Selecting the right oil to useYou can use most any cooking oil, as one works about as well as another. The flavor and nutrition are the two most important considerations. I have used many including sunflower, soy, corn, peanut and olive. Now I try to use olive most of the time since I can get good quality and good flavor at a price that I can justify. On occasion we have peanut, corn or soy left over from cooking scones at The Utah Midsummer Renaissance Faire and I try to use it up before I buy more. When making my selection I try to avoid any product that is not made from a natural food. Of all that are available my first choice is olive my second is corn and I prefer peanut for cooking. |
